What is a hospitality workshop?
A hospitality workshop is a facilitated, full-day training session built around the real situations your managers face on shift - difficult conversations, underperformance, handovers, retention, recruitment. Ours run for 8-16 delegates so everyone actually takes part, and every session ends with an action plan rather than a handout.
How much does a hospitality workshop cost?
Each full-day workshop is £1,495 excluding VAT, which covers the whole group rather than being charged per head. Larger groups, conference sessions and leadership away days are quoted separately.
How many people can attend?
Workshops are designed for 8-16 delegates. That range is deliberate: fewer than eight and the group discussion thins out, more than sixteen and quieter team members stop contributing. Bigger groups can be accommodated as a conference-style session, though the format changes.
Do you deliver workshops on site?
Yes. Sessions are normally delivered at your venue or a site of your choosing, anywhere in the UK, so your team isn't travelling and the examples stay grounded in your actual operation.
Can workshops be tailored to our business?
Every workshop is shaped around your operating model, your culture and the specific problem you're trying to solve. We start with a conversation about what's happening in the business, then build the session around that - including fully bespoke days if none of the standard workshops fit.
Who are the workshops for?
Hospitality operators, general managers, assistant managers, head chefs, supervisors and emerging leaders - anyone responsible for other people's performance. They work for pubs, restaurants, hotels, cafés, bars and multi-site groups alike.
How long is a hospitality workshop?
A full day. That length is what makes it a workshop rather than a briefing - there is time for the group to work through their own situations, practise the conversations and build an action plan, none of which survives being compressed into an hour. Conference-style sessions and leadership away days run to different formats and are arranged separately.
What is the difference between a hospitality workshop and an online training course?
They do different jobs. An online course teaches people what they must do and gives you a record that they did it, which is exactly right for compliance subjects like food safety, fire safety and health and safety - we recommend iHASCO for those. A workshop works on how people lead: the difficult conversation, the underperformer, the handover that keeps going wrong. You cannot practise those in a video module, and you cannot evidence a fire safety certificate with a facilitated day.
What do delegates take away from a hospitality workshop?
Every session ends with each delegate holding a specific commitment of their own rather than a handout - something they will do differently on their next shift, written down and owned by them. That is the part that survives contact with a busy Friday, and it is the difference between a day people enjoyed and a day that changed something.
Is a hospitality workshop worth the cost?
£1,495 for a group of up to sixteen works out around £93 a head for a full day, which is less than most operations spend replacing a single team member once advertising, management time, induction and the productivity gap are counted - the staff turnover cost calculator on this site shows that working with your own numbers. The honest caveat is that it is only worth it if training is the right tool for the problem. If the issue is a rota people cannot live with, or one individual rather than a team, a workshop is the wrong purchase and we will say so.
